The images in Cityscape begin by finding similarities between the moment an image
with a narrative escapes from the still surface, and the way an individual
remembers a series of images upon which they continue their presence. For
example, in the solo exhibition Carbamazepine
held in 2018, I replaced the image of the gap generated from recognizing the
space in involuntary bodily movement with aliasing images produced by the
camera’s erroneous detection of space. I then performed anti-aliasing over this
image like a meticulous animator so that the image could be projected like a
seamless animated feature. The works in Cityscape
summon and combine the documentations of urban landscapes from different times,
focusing on the stages of processing the gaps that appear between such image.
